430 stainless steel is a ferritic stainless steel alloy, from the
400 series of stainless steels. This material is valued for its
corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and affordability compared
to other stainless steel grades. It contains approximately 17%
chromium, which provides its corrosion resistance. However, it has
a low nickel content, around 0.75% (maximum), which makes it less
expensive than austenitic stainless steel.
